Drain Relining
Drain Relining
Drain re lining is a relatively new technology that enables us to repair a broken drain from the inside out without the need for excavation and mess. To establish if a drain can be re lined, first we must clear the blockage and conduct a camera inspection to see the extent of damage to the drain in order to determine if a re line can be used to repair the broken drain.
Once the drain has been inspected and cleared our team may recommend a re line as the best option of repair to reduce the amount of damage and mess caused to our customers property as opposed to conventional drain repairs using excavation.
The re lining process uses a bladder, felt and a two-part epoxy resin. First the felt is measured, marked, cut and installed onto the bladder before being coated with the resin. Once the resin is adequately impregnated within the resin, we will insert the custom built felt and resin coated bladder into the drain to the centre of the problem area. The bladder is then inflated and left to set for approximately two to three hours before being deflated and removed.
The resin coated felt will harden within the drain and create a pipe within the original broken pipe that is both strong and smooth. We then simply deflate and remove the bladder leaving the resin section inside the drain. This will ensure the problem area does not continue to drop or break, meaning that your drain will no longer continue to block up due to hard edges or obstructions.
Pipe re lining is an excellent solution to blocked and broken drains, especially where excavation is required below concrete driveways or areas with poor access.
